Hello Resident
Spring is in the air and many local Neighbourhood Watch groups are brushing away the cobwebs of winter and planning events in their local areas. It is also time to start planning for Neighbourhood Watch Week, which this year is 1st – 7th June.
Neighbourhood Watch Week 2026
As you may have guessed, this year’s Neighbourhood Watch Week is Monday 1st June to Sunday 7th June and we have a range of fun ideas to get involved. The week kicks off the “Month of Community”, which brings various community charities celebrating their individual awareness weeks or events. This includes Volunteers Weeks, Carers Week, Refugee Week, and Small Charity Week.
To get ready for NWW2026 we are arranging a special online workshop for our volunteers to learn more about getting ready for the week ahead. It s a chance for you to connect with other Neighbourhood Watch volunteers, share ideas and get excited about the possibilities.
Resources will be available through the Knowledge Hub, so if you are not yet signed up to the Hub, please follow links below to sign up.
A special online workshop for Coordinators, is Thursday 16th April 2026 – 6pm-7.30pm via Zoom. Booking is recommended and you can do this by clicking this LINK.
Do you have a social media account or page for your scheme or Association?
Our Comms team (Charmian and Mila) have been hard at work increasing our presence on social media. They are currently looking to support Neighbourhood Watch groups to be more active on social media platforms. In order to do this, they have asked me to share with you a short survey to understand if you are running a social media group for your Neighbourhood Watch scheme or Association. Please can you take a few minutes to take the survey and help us to understand your needs. Here is the survey.
Easter discount in our online shop
As a valued volunteer with Neighbourhood Watch, we wanted to let you know about our Easter discount in our online shop. It is a great way of stocking up on window stickers, signs, leaflets, and crime prevention leaflets. Over the long bank holiday, Good Friday to Easter Monday, you will be able to get 10% discount on Neighbourhood Watch branded merchandise.
All you need to do is add the code EASTER10 at the checkout and it will automatically reduce the amount. Visit our online shop HERE.
Knowledge Hub working group underwayBack in our last edition, we asked for volunteers to help us with looking at the Knowledge Hub. The online resource for Neighbourhood Watch volunteers. The purpose of this group is to hear their views on the useability of the Hub and to make sure that it is supporting our volunteers. We have a selection of Coordinators, Association Leads, Cyberhood Watch Ambassadors and Membership Support Administrators who have come forward to help us shape the future of the Hub.
We have already looked at the content, which overall, they say is relevant and helpful to their individual roles and the online forum. We are also in the process of cleaning up the files and making sure they are current and relevant.
The process will take place over this year and will enable us to continue to consult, listen and act on the needs of our volunteers. Together.
On the subject of the Knowledge Hub…
As a Neighbourhood Watch volunteer, you can have free access to lots of helpful advice and support, at the click of a button. The Knowledge Hub is an online resource for all of our volunteers, from Coordinators, Associations, Cyberhood Watch Ambassadors, Membership Support Administrators and our Youth Council It has online forums, helpful ideas and more information about how to get the best out of your volunteering role with Neighbourhood Watch.
It takes less than 2 minutes to sign up, its free and easy to use and it has been specially designed for you. Find out more about the Hub here or Sign up to the Hub today.
Held or attended an event, we want to hear about itUnderstanding what our volunteers are doing in their local area is important to us. We want to know what you have been up to and want to share it. Providing us with this information helps us promote the great work that is being done in local communities. We have a dedicated page on our Knowledge Hub for you to complete, you can even provide a photo.
Recent stories have included a litter pick in St Erth in Cornwall, a crime awareness event in Blackpool and attending a Eid event in the community.
Find the page here, however if you are not yet registered on the Hub, then please complete the form here.
Our team is venturing out this year! The Central Support Team has been out and about across the country, meeting local schemes, promoting the work of Neighbourhood Watch, and going on TV and local radio. One of the best things we do is meeting local volunteers and celebrating the work that they do. If you are having a larger event, let us know, one of our team may be able to make it!
Finally, a heartfelt thank you to all the Neighbourhood Watch volunteers who support their local community so selflessly. Your dedication, kindness, and willingness to give your time make a real difference to the lives of so many people.
You help bring neighbours together, support those who are vulnerable, and create a safer, more connected community for everyone. Your efforts do not go unnoticed and are truly appreciated.
Thank you for everything you do — your commitment and community spirit are inspiring.
Best wishes
Cheryl
